Description

Mind Your Own Kingdom is based on the three well-known monkeys: Mizaru, who does not want to see evil. Kikazaru, who does not want to hear evil. Iwazaru, who does not want to speak of evil. The crowns on their heads symbolize that each of us has our own little "kingdom" to govern, where we must take leadership over our actions, patterns, choices, and the energy we choose to send out to our surroundings and our relationships. The work thus revolves around personal accountability and the necessity of taking care of one's own inner and outer "kingdom" before interfering in the lives of others. It is not about turning a blind eye to injustices or remaining silent. It is about distinguishing between what we are truly responsible for and what we use as a distraction from our own lives. Frågan at the bottom of the work: "If God ran out of time, what would He do?" opens a larger existential dimension: What would be most important if time were limited? To judge, control, and move in others' "kingdoms" while one's own kingdom stands and decays? Or to take responsibility for the life and the world one helps to create? Collage and mixed media created with recycled paper, text fragments, color, and materials that create texture. Lacquered/matte finish. Price excluding shipping. Shipping calculated based on destination. Avhämtning in Odense is possible.
