Description
One of many historical portraits of Marilyn Monroe is presented here, constructed from small paper fragments from discarded prints. The many fragments give the otherwise classic figure a raw and assembled expression, while the strong yellow background evokes thoughts of a worn, painted facade somewhere in the city. The work revolves around the roles and images we try to maintain outwardly. Behind the neat surface hides a person with humor, resistance, longing, and a desire to break the mold. The bubblegum bubble becomes a small but significant rebellion against the notion of how a woman should behave and look. Collage and mixed media created with recycled paper, color, and materials that create texture. Lacquered/matte finish. Price excluding shipping. Shipping is calculated based on destination. Avhämtning in Odense is possible.
